  Awesome self sustained bush camping, great fishing and 4wding.. you name the terrain its here. Mud sand dirt rock water crazy angles and washouts

  This camp ground is definitely 4x4 only. It is not suitable for caravans however camper trailers, swags and tents are ok. Due to the drought there isn't much grass so you can't be fussy. The water and fishing is great as is swimming but be careful of underwater rocks and snags. Respect the graziers rights and property and keep to the designated roads. Take a short walk to the Echo Hole and you will find fossilized shells and invertebrates in the rocks and old lava flows that form some of the basalt walls around this area. Please leave only your footprints and take all your rubbish away with you.

  Excellent area for a bit of 4WDing and “wild camping” - some of the best camping spots are right down the river but can be a bit tricky to reach depending on vehicle and conditions.
  This area has NO facilities so ensure you bring everything and leave it clean when you depart for others to enjoy!

  Amazing spot. Perfect for a camper with a 4x4. Beautiful scenery but its up to us to keep it clean.

  For those of you who'd like to get away from it all, and have a trusted 4x4 vehicle, here is a great place to visit - Big Bend, Burdekin River, North of Charters Towers. It's a fantastic outback destination, that is full of rugged beauty and offers plenty of 4x4 challenges! Fishing is not bad either
